EU Concerned Over India-Pakistan Kashmir Tensions

The European Union has expressed growing concern over the escalating tensions between India and Pakistan following a deadly attack in Kashmir’s Pahalgam region. EU foreign policy chief Josep Borrell called for restraint from both sides, emphasizing the need to avoid further violence. The bloc urged dialogue to de-escalate the situation, warning that renewed hostilities could destabilize the region.  

Meanwhile, Estonian Prime Minister Kaja Kallas, known for her strong stance on security issues, highlighted the broader implications of the conflict, noting that instability in South Asia could have ripple effects globally. The EU is reportedly assessing potential diplomatic measures to encourage a peaceful resolution, though specific actions remain undisclosed.  

The attack, which targeted Indian security forces, has intensified long-standing tensions between the nuclear-armed neighbors. The EU’s intervention underscores international unease over the risk of further confrontation.
